You could say this is a belated birthday post, but I like to think of it as one magical night that spread across six more nights…
For good reason, since some artists needed time to get that ahoge just right. Even your’s truly took part in the celebration:
…I’ll try better next year :~;
But here are some pros that were able to capture the cute/handsome idol prince. Continue reading “Makoto Kikuchi Birthday Parade – 2017 Edition!”
The power of smile works (or begging in desperation with half-hopes of becoming true).
Southern California anime convention Anime Expo announced a selection of the cast from Idolm@ster: Cinderella Girls will preform as part of the Anisong World Matsuri* concert on June 30.
Premier badge holders can already buy tickets, but general attendees can purchase theirs on May 3. Ticket link is here.
- Lodge: $45
- Orchestra: $65
- VIP: $130 (also an invitation to a “Special Goodbye” event. Kind of an ominous title for fans to see performers…)
Cindere participants in the concert include: Asami Takano (Frederica Miyamato), Haruka Yoshimura (Mika Jougasaki), Hiromi Igarashi (Anzu Futaba), Rei Matsuzaki (Kirari Moroboshi), Tomoyo Kurosawa (Miria Akagi), and Yuuko Iida (Kanade Hayami).
That’s a wallop of a lineup! This selection of seiyuu voice characters that are quite popular in the series, so it isn’t as though they selected random characters (over a hundred), paid the seiyuu to make an appearance and call it a day.
Interestingly enough, this selection is an almost-complete lineup of units from the series:
- Decoration (凸レーション): Kirari Moroboshi, Miria Akagi, Rika Jougasaki
- Familia Twin (ファミリア ツ イン): Mika Jougasaki, Rika Jougasaki
- LiPPS: Mika Jougasaki, Frederica Miyamato, Kanade Hayami, Shiki Ichinose, Syuko Shiomi
- Ankira is the only complete unit with Anzu Futaba and Kirari Moroboshi.
It’s nice to see a few familiar faces from when I last them at the 10th anniversary Idolm@ster concert in 2015. Being held at the Microsoft Theater also means even if I’m only able to get lodge seating I’ll still get a better view compared to when I was at the Seibu Prince Dome. A lot less sweaty, too.
This is a big splash for Imas fans attending Anime Expo. Aside from a fan panel and cosplay gatherings, this was what we had to resort to in lieu of an actual concert:
*Wake Up, Girls!, JUNNA and Minori Suzuki from Walküre are also set to perform at the event. Love Live’s Aqours, as well, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Happy Halloween, children of the night! Alright, that’s about as chuunibyou as you’ll get from me. I do love me some horror, chills and thrills, though. Why not add some idols into the mix?
Idolm@ster idols, of course! Continue reading “Spooktacular Extravaganza 2016! – Idolm@ster Fright Fest!”
What’s idol notes without talking about the toppest idol of them all!? Oh, you humbly disagree, you say? Well, my good Sir or Madam, ask yourself this: how many idols get their own day to celebrate?
I jest about the toppest idol, but I’m glad that fellow fans of Makoto Kikuchi (The Idolm@ster) agreed to make October 28 十月二十八日は真日, marking this day as Makoto Day. Continue reading “Happy Makoto Day!”
March 3 is hinamatsuri in Japan. It’s a tradition that dates back to the Edo period where people pray for the healthy development of girls. One of the most notable aspects of this event are the ornamental dolls displayed on red carpet. I remember rolling up one of these in Katamari Damacy! Anyway, what’s a better way for me to commemorate this day than to have a look at anime figures!? Continue reading “Hinamatsuri: Doll Day with Makoto Kikuchi 1/8 figure”
